THAT HAS NOT YET BEEN
Tourism grows for seven consecutive years more than the global economy, mainly in developing countries. But Brazil does not follow this rhythm. We are in the house of the 6 million international tourists since 2010! That is to say, if our economy is experiencing a recession in recent years, tourism has been going on for almost one decade.
The world travels more and more.
As one of the largest economic sectors in the world, the travel and tourism industry creates jobs, increases exports and generates prosperity throughout the world. The sector represented 10.4% of world GDP. 2017 was one of the strongest years of GDP growth in a decade, with robust consumption worldwide. This global growth was again transferred to the Travel and Tourism sector, with a direct growth of the sector of 4.6% that exceeds the world economy for the seventh consecutive year according to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) of 2018, tourism is more important in The global economy, and in the Brazilian economy, is no different.
According to the data published by the Ministry of Tourism, important markets are not visiting the country.
Consolidating a 28% growth in the number of foreign tourists compared to 2018 with 2010, Europe and North America fell 9.5% and 10.8% respectively.
With strong currencies and the financial crisis overcome, the two markets are extremely important for Brazilian tourism.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, per capita spending per stay in Brazil among European and South American tourists, even falling since 2014, is still higher by almost 50%.

AN UNKNOWN PARADISE
An unknown land for the foreign tourist
The Ministry of Tourism data released in 2019 confirms that the northeast is an unexplored site by foreign tourists, only Salvador is among the 10 most wanted destinations. Still according to consolidated data, of the almost 6.6 million foreign tourists, only about 400,000 visited the northeastern states.
Although 2018 has performed best since 2010, the decline in the number of tourists from Europe and North America has a negative impact on the bottom line in the Northeast economy.
ARRIVAL OF INTERNATIONAL TOURISTS
If during recent years there was an effective investment in the maintenance of international tourists, mainly from Europe and North America in 2018, compared to the number of tourists that arrived in the region in 2010, we would have circulated in the economy of the northeast, about $ 120 million.
The numbers confirm that there is a large market to be exploited.
